I’m happy to show you more of the Nelson Street graffiti from this summer’s international street art festival this week.
What pleased me about this image when I got home were the 2 figures seen at the side as well as the art itself and the building’s design. Serendipity rules!
A mural depicting some of the key touristy elements of Victoria. The little ferry boats always made us smile and it’s good to see public planting highlighted for once!
Meanwhile, in downtown The Dalles, Oregon, the Mural Society there has chosen to depict scenes from the Lewis Clarke expedition in the Historic District, making for a charming mix of mural and old fashioned looking shops. The scene also gives an idea of just how spectacular the Columbia River gorge is in this area.
One of the most noticeable aspects of our trip to the Pacific North West and Canada was the amount of murals found on the streets. Here’s one I found just a short walk away from the Farmers’ Market I visited in Seattle.
The developments in and around Northgate and Snuff Streets in Devizes have been enhanced with some attractive sculptures and public planting. This is one of two ‘cut-out’ street scenes of children playing by the car park. The snow just before Christmas made a particularly good contrast.
