This is the passageway just inside the entrance to the Black Dog of Wells showroom, with examples of their range of bespoke terracotta tiles and plaques.

Black Dog of Wells produces the most amazing bespoke terracotta tiles and plaques. I think this is absolutely gorgeous.
Either side of Wells High Street is a rill with running water remiscent of rubbish disposal during Medieval times. We were unsure whether natural springs fed these rills or whether they were a little more contrived.

Yesterday was the close-up view: today’s the glorious whole.
This is where I was on Thursday

The facade of Wells Cathedral is covered with statues and gargoyles and is very ornate. At first all you can see is the mellow stone and how the rain and winds over centuries have eroded the limestone.
Then you notice how every nook and cranny is filled with pigeons.
The birds on this statue made me think of St. Francis of Assisi.
