Bristol Boats

Bristol Harbour Boats 08082009 023 (2)

I rather like the washing lines strung across this residential barge instead of sails.

Apparently the demand for residential boats on our rivers and canals has soared over the last year. It’s another aspect of the effects of the ‘credit crunch’ – boats and moorings are substantially cheaper than bricks and mortar.

  1. Actually, that was such a silly thing to say because it doesnt say what I am thinking. Start again Karen.

I enjoy a lot of your signs of the times, but this one particularly appeals because it is about water, and also seeing the boat and the washing – makes me wonder about living on a boat and how that would be.

    1. Hi Karen,

Thank you. I think this is one of my favourite shots thus far too. Like you I’m drawn to water and I find something very restful in this scene.

      I’m glad you’re enjoying the photos 🙂
