Chew Valley Orchard

An orchard scene not usually photographed – blossom or fruiting time are most common. But I liked the shape of the apple trees and the way they’d been pruned into similar gnarled shapes in contrast to the straighter trees (acting as a windbreak?) on the horizon.

  1. I’m also worried that last week’s budget (and the increased tax on cider) will mean more of these orchards will end up being grubbed out, just as our great apple growing industry was beginning to revive again 😦
