It’s some years since I visited Barnsley House and this week saw me return not once, but twice. Here we are in Rosemary Verey’s iconic potager where this foliage surrounded bench caught my eye. It’s a relaxing spot to take in the surroundings.
Fun topiary and massed snowdrops make a fine setting for this simple bench which blends into the Cotswold stone wall behind it.
This was a gem of a garden with a great atmosphere and sweeping views over the rolling Cotswold hills.
A sad sign of the times. Here’s hoping the replacements didn’t go the same way.
Another sign nearby said the plants were donated by a local garden centre in Keynsham.
