Who needs a tiny little plaque when you can proclaim loudly and proudly whose life this bench commemorates?
Sadly Toby died too young (aged 20) and the memorial fund raised in his name paid for defibrillators to be placed in the town as well as 3 memorial benches in his name.
A supplement to the usual Friday benches to wish you Yuletide cheer 🙂
Whilst I was taking this picture (in the rain) a passer by – who was walking his dog – asked if I was a tourist. He’s alerted me to something a little further along the street which awaits a visit during the day.
Sign of the Times will be back in the New Year.
There can’t be many places where you can get your money out of the bank whilst standing next to a grapevine. Looking a bit closer after I took this photo, I found it not only had twinkly lights for decoration, but also plenty of bunches of grapes.
