Friday Bench: Spun II

Following Barbara’s discovery of these seats in South Africa in a previous Guest Bench,  I was delighted to find some of Thomas Heatherwick’s ‘Spun’ chairs on the 16th Street Mall in Denver.

They were very popular and there was lots of laughter and squeals of delight as people spun themselves round or got their parents to start them off.

Judging by the results from Google when I looked for Thomas Heatherwick chair, one of these can be yours for around £340.

Friday Bench: Spun

We embark on a series of guest benches courtesy of Barbara and her recent trip to South Africa. Thanks for adding a new country to Sign of the Times, Barbara!

Zeitz MOCAA opened in September 2017 and the contemporary re-design of the original waterfront grain silos was by Thomas Heatherwick; he of the new London bus and 2012 Olympic flame fame.

Heatherwick Studios also designed today’s featured seats. They’re called ‘Spun‘.
